Religious fundamentalism is a major source of todays problems. From creationism to Islam, they promote stupidity, ignorance , and violence. They are a scourge on our species and religions should be forgotten.

So Ken Ham believes in dragons now??? FFS.
Dragons: Fact or Fable? - Answers in Genesis is one of the latest offerings from AiG to amuse the skeptics and to numb the senses of the believer.
What was to prevent the "dragons" from landing on top of the ark and hitching a ride or using the contents as food? After all, the wooden ark would be no match for their fire breathing abilities, right?
Not to mention where is the evidence? Show us a fossil, Hammy! What's that? You don't need evidence cause the bible says they must have existed is all the evidence you need? Get lost. That dog won't hunt. Put up the evidence or shut up.
Wait a sec! Since when is "And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” elude to anything more than a snake getting stepped on by us and it biting our feet? Where is the prophecy there? Oh. That's right. There is none. You are just pulling shit out of you ass again.
Many dragon legends such as what we find outside the Bible could be embellished, but the basic characteristics of dragons can be found in known creatures. Some dragon descriptions fit well with certain dinosaurs. Fossil pterosaurs reveal dragon-like wings. Certain beetles shoot out burning chemicals, so is a fire-breathing dragon really that far-fetched?Right. I see. So since a beetle can shoot hot chemicals out it's rear, a lizard can blow fire out it's nose? Are you daft?
Land and air dragons would have been taken on Noah’s Ark and probably existed for some time afterward... But they died out due to the curse of sin, with factors such as environmental and habitat changes, food source problems, genetic mutations, and diseases. Also, man most likely played a role in the demise of dragons, as we read in the legends of dragon slayers.

As prophesied in Genesis 3:15, we needed Jesus to crush the head of this serpent.

Off topic: Verizon, FICA, FISA, PRISM, et al.
Right or Left, if you have been following the news the last few days regarding the Obama administration's abuse of power violating the privacy of US Citizens at large, you should be angry as hell.
According to a top-secret document obtained by The Washington Post, The National Security Agency and the FBI are tapping directly into the central servers of nine leading U.S. Internet companies, extracting audio and video chats, photographs, e-mails, documents, and connection logs that enable analysts to track foreign targets. The companies allegedly in cahoots with feds are Microsoft, Google, Yahoo!, Facebook, PalTalk, Youtube, Skype, AOL (are they really still around?), and Apple. Dropbox, the cloud storage service, is described as “coming soon.”

Absurd beliefs....
If you browse around various church websites you will soon find a statement of faith that contains something like the following:
We believe…
That the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully Inspired without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. (emphasis added)

Mississippi schools are violating the establishment clause
Northwest Rankin High is being sued by several students for violating the First Amendment. They have been holding mandatory assemblies for students over a course of several weeks in where a baptist minister has been coming into preach the "gospel".
The School did not inform the students what the presentation at the Senior Assembly would be about or who would be making it. The students were only told that attendance at the assembly was required. Once the students and faculty arrived in the PAB, a student member (the “Church Representative”) of Pinelake Baptist Church started to give a presentation about finding “hope” in “Jesus Christ.”

I pity Steve Sanchez's kids. I really do.
So Steve had this to say:
The Stupid Family
I’m teaching my daughters to get used to feeling stupid.
During a recent visit to the Griffith Observatory we engaged in a game called “Find the lie.” As we experienced the many wonderful displays revealing God’s creation in the cosmos we also read some of the theories that pass for “science.”
“Girls,” I said excitedly, as we looked at the Supernova display, “find the lie!”
They replied, “Hydrogen and helium are the two most abundant elements. They were made in the Big Bang more than 13 billion years ago.”
“Very good!!” I affirmed. “Read the other lie, too.”
“Our bodies are made of elements that came from stars that died as supernovae.”
A mother with a teenaged daughter overheard our conversations and whispered something. The daughter gave a knowing smile toward the stupid family.
You really have to feel sorry for these poor kids. Their education is being sabotaged by their own father! It's really sad that he thinks an ancient book is more reliable than the whole of the science community. Sadly if his kids want to enter the science community they will need years of remedial education to undo the damage done by their own father.
He actually wants them to think they should be proud of being stupid. And people wonder why atheists say that teaching creationism to children is tantamount to child abuse.
To Steve's daughters: If you really want to not be "stupid" then please find a university professor in the UC or Cal State system to talk to you and explain why your father is an idiot and while his intentions may be misguided, you will pay the price for his stupidity later on in life. Feel free to contact me as well and I will keep your secret and tell you where to get the truth.

Ray Comfort sends me vapid nonsense
I got this in the mail today from Ray. It's autographed and contained a $20 note. The money will be donated promptly to Planned Parenthood in Ray's name and I urge you all to donate as well as Texas is cutting off PP's state funding and forcing women to go without basic reproductive health care.
At first glance this book is just filled with vapid nonsense, logical fallacies, and dozens of factual errors. Of course do we expect any less from the Banana Man? Of course not.

Russian meteorite is wormwood?
Listening to 770 am. The Christians are freaking out thinking the meteorite over Russia is a sign of the end times. How sad that something so amazing and beautiful (aside from the damage and injuries) brings not wonder and curiosity but fear mongering and panic.

Todd Friel doesn't support dying with dignity....
Todd, if you really have a problem with people who are dying choosing when to end their own lives too bad. That you think you have a right or duty to speak out against it is sicking. I hope you have the choice as to when to end your life when it comes and you can't take the pain and don't want to be a burden on anyone any longer. While you may not make the choice, I at least hope you get to have that choice.
You are despicable.

Public reply to Bodie Hodge of AiG.
A reply to Bodie's load of shit at AiG
"Are you tired of all the evil associated with the philosophy of atheism—Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and so on?"
"After all, most murderers, tyrants, and rapists are not biblical Christians, and most have rejected the God of the Bible."
"Even if they claim to believe in the God of the Bible, they are not really living like a true Christ follower (who strives to follow God’s Word), are they?"
"Do you feel conflicted about the fact that atheism has no basis in morality (i.e., no absolute right and wrong; no good, no bad?) "
Do you feel conflicted that your bible endorses rape and slavery and doesn't denounce molesting children? For a so called moral guide, your bible promotes the most vile aspects of human behavior. Do you feel conflicted that your god allowed the devil to murder people over a fucking bet? Does it bother you that in your precious bible, your god has a body count in the millions and Satan only one of 10? Seems to me you are worshiping the wrong character in that book.
"And further, knowing that you are essentially no different from a cockroach in an atheistic worldview (since people are just animals) must be disheartening."
"Are you tired of the fact that atheism (which is based in materialism, a popular worldview today) has no basis for logic and reasoning? Is it tough trying to get up every day thinking that truth, which is immaterial, really doesn’t exist?"
"Invitation: I invite you to reconsider that the false religion of atheism is simply that."

Todd, Quit Being A Whining Crybaby Sack Of Shit!!
Poor crybaby Todd Friel of Wretched.tv is clearly upset that his mythology isn't allowed to be taught in public schools. Here he is very whiney that his false take on reality is called out for what it is! A MYTH!
This dean of Florida International University is correct in that a college grad should not be allowed to graduate with demonstrably false beliefs! Just as an astronomy student shouldn't be allowed to graduate with a belief that angels push the planets around in their orbits. Or a medical student shouldn't be allowed to graduate with a belief that gremlins cause disease instead of germs! Or a chemist shouldn't be allowed to graduate thinking that alchemy is a correct model!
Todd, you don't get to say if your model is scientifically valid. And your precious beliefs are not exempt from ridicule when they are ridiculous and refusing to teach them in schools isn't academic suppression, it's education!

Ken Ham begs the question...
Without Genesis . . . Our Children Learn the Bible Cannot Be Trusted
When our church leaders teach believers, especially youth, that Genesis 1–11 is untrustworthy, they are teaching (unwittingly or not) that the Word of God is not authoritative. While it may seem hard to believe that the denial of 11 chapters from just one of the 66 books of Scripture could have such a negative impact on people, it has been confirmed by the research presented in Ken’s book, Already Gone. Two-thirds of our children are leaving the church by the time they reach college age. And the majority of them do not believe that Genesis 1–11 is accurate or reliable. Church leaders’ compromise on Genesis, including their incorporation of evolution and millions of years, is teaching our children that the Word of God lacks authority—and our children suffer the most from the results of such thinking.
No shit? Really?
All available evidence tells us that all of Genesis, Exodus, etc is untrustworthy as it doesn't fit any of the available facts. The lack of collaborating evidence is astounding! Normally absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but in this case, the astonishing lack of evidence is not just evidence of absence, but conclusive!
We can conclude that the if the god of the Christian bible is as he is described in the bible, then he doesn't exist!
These kids are not leaving because they don't believe in Genesis, but because they discovered you have been lying to them about the lack of congruence between the bible and reality! They are not suffering from the results of this discovery, but being freed from your archaic superstition and hopefully finding the real world far more interesting than your fables and myths!

More republicans believe in demonic possession than climate change?? WTF??
A disturbing new poll reveals the majority (68%) of registered Republican voters believe that demonic possession is a real phenomenon...
According to the poll results, 49 percent of Democrats also said they believe that its possible to be possessed by demons. Overall, only 35 percent of the 1,200 registered voters polled -- including Independent voters and others -- said that demon possession is an impossibility.
WTF is wrong with America? Really? Why is it we believe in superstitious nonsense, but we don't believe in the things science tells us about reality?
