Ray Comfort caught lying again???

It seems that Ray has been editing videos to to make people appear to be answering questions they were not really asked.

This is really despicable behavior but really not unexpected.

Ken Ham is a lying twit

Ken Ham claims that evolution, even if given billions of years, has no chance of working.

He tries to make it simple.
"Darwin’s idea × billions of years × 0 (chance of actually happening) = 0."

He is dishonest as he does accept so called "microevolution" but denies so called "macroevolution". He does accept microevolution as he would be daft not to, but he is equally daft to not accept macroevolution.

What is "Darwin's Idea"? “Darwin argued that macroevolution is just microevolution writ large, or that the process we see and study as the cause of microevolution will, given sufficient time, also cause everything that we attribute to macroevolution.” (Travis and Reznick 2009, p. 126).

So Ken is actually saying here is that microevolution doesn't actually work or exist! He is in full denial mode now! If you really want to see how dishonest Ken is, read The Greatest Show on Earth By Dawkins, Richard

Steve the liar and banner

Steve Sanchez says he has to ban a few people, including me.

Fine. Then I will reply to him here.

I completely wiped all mention of one particular unbeliever and all his comments because of his persistent surliness.
That would be me. Wow. To resort to the drastic measure of deleting ALL of my replies to him? Talk about a blatant lie right there. That is the lie of omission.

Also, when there is a constant refrain that I’m lying, I will delete it. I don’t lie.

Really? You don't lie? I think I just showed that as untrue.

I owe you no apology. On the contrary, wipeing out all my posts is unforgivable for someone who supposedly loves free speech and his religious first amendment rights.

Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I have seen your supporters defame and lie about me and other atheists here. Other "Christians" here engage in such skulduggery, permitted by you, that proved to me that either 1) you are no "true" Christian or 2) you believe that such immoral acts, done in the name of your God, are totally forgivable and the ends of saving sinners justifies the immoral and dishonest means.

The way I see it, you and several of your supporters owe us apologies. Not vice versa.

If you disagree then come to smrt where we only censor spammers and not those who merely disagree.

Place your bets!!!

I predict that Todd (Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron's lackey) will change his anti-mormon tune in  a few months and will become one of Mitt Romney's biggest cheer leaders!

Who all is in?

Poor Ken Ham is not happy.....

Ken Ham of Answers in Stupidity Genesis is not a happy camper right now because many churches are not falling in line with his delusion that the earth is 6000 years old and dinosaurs lived on the earth with humans before a global flood.

"...what is happening in the church today is exactly what the atheists want to see happen. The atheists know that if they can get Christians to compromise God’s Word in Genesis, eventually there will be a generational decline in the acceptance of the authority of all of God’s Word."
Is this really a bad thing?  Ken knows that evolution is a reality. He knows there was no global flood. he has been corrected countless times about the lies he spreads. But Ken doesn't really care. Why? Ken is not really a fundamentalist christian. The fundamentalist is his mark, his cash cow.

Ken thinks there is hope for him:

But here is the encouraging part:
  • Thousands of churches now use AiG’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) program.
  • Our new Bible curriculum—covering all the books of the Bible—will be released in the fall; we have already seen incredible interest in it.
  • More Bible-defending resources than ever are being purchased from AiG.
  • The AiG website attracts several million visitors each year.
  • And hundreds of thousands of people, including tens of thousands of kids, are coming to the Creation Museum every year.
As you can see, these are all products that Ken sells or helps him sell his product. He closes his letter with several requests for donations as well. Clearly Ken is in this for the money and method of income is to spread the madness of young earth creationism.

Public Response to Richard Chavarria's & Steve Sanchez's dishonesty and censorship

Richard Chavarria at Steve's blog made a claim that "10,000 people become Christians and every day there are 300 less atheists"  Clearly this is a bogus claim, but we were willing to let him save face by posting a source or a retraction. Unfortunately Steve has censored the living shit out of that page and the entire thread has been cleansed.

This is par for the course at Stone the Preacher.

This is my reply that I am sure Steve will not have the balls to approve.
What in the world is going on here??
Richard made an unsupported claim that was clearly BOGUS. When called out on it he ducked and dodged and spun to ignore the fact that he made a bogus claim. He even threw out a red herring that the NYT is not to be trusted because it made a mistake SIX decades ago!! Likely everyone who was a part of that screw up is dead by now!
I am going to say it. Richard, a person you call “Righteous” and whom you have allowed to moderate comments here, LIED. Because you preach with him and have allowed him to moderate here, his lie reflects on you, Steve.  And now you are censoring the fact we have caught him in a lie??? You are now a willing part of his deception!
Is this the sort of face you want to present with your ministry? I have lost ALL respect for you, Steve. You are a dishonest coward.
I am sure you will not have the courage to allow this post, but it has been posted and preserved at Smrt.

Go to hell Steve. It's time for your blatant dishonesty and censorship to end.

Steve Sanchez's blog and why I will no longer post there

As some of you may know, Comfort's stupid "180" propaganda piece was released today. Steve Sanchez at Stone the Preacher started pimping the movie and instantly started censoring the critical comments. He will not allow ANY posts that refute or debunk the movie.

My reply to the post was the following:
"Steve, I watched this movie a few weeks ago. I am simply not convinced. The whole argument is based on the flawed premise that a clump of cells is a human being. By that rational, a finger when chopped off, is a human being. Cells does not a human make. Humans have a personality and consciousness. A fetus hasn't had and of those things. What does bother me the most in this video is how badly the education system has failed these people. Lack of historical knowledge and very very poor critical thinking skills."

This is what edited my post to read:

"[FULL DISCLOSURE: This atheist's comment has been edited for content and taken I have taken it out of its original context. I left in the parts of the comment that demonstrate compassion.]
Steve,
I watched this movie a few weeks ago.
What does bother me the most in this video is how badly the education system has failed these people. Lack of historical knowledge and very very poor critical thinking skills."

Another user posted this:

"This will be my last comment on the blog until Steve posts my comment in its original, unedited form or deletes the hack job he did.
Unlike Ray and the others, I thought you might have been a better person, Steve. But I now see the frightened person you really are. Makes me sad, Steve."

This is the edited version by Steve:

"[FULL DISCLOSURE: This atheist's comment has been edited for content and I have taken it out of its original context. I left in the parts of the comment that demonstrate compassion.]
This will be my last comment on the blog…. "

Another user posted:

"I feel sorry for all the mothers who were forced to make that decision. I do not understand why you would want to take that decision away, when by the same logic your deity kills far more than abortion through miscarriages."

Steve edited the post to this:

"[FULL DISCLOSURE: This atheist's comment has been edited for content and I have taken it out of its original context. I left in the parts of the comment that demonstrate compassion.]I feel sorry for all the mothers…."

Clearly these posts have been edited to not allow discussion and some even changed to appear to support the movie.

Steve, if you are reading this, what you did was wrong. Very wrong. It is dishonest to alter the words of another person like that and then make it seem that their original words were mean spirited.

I don't care if you think ending abortion by any means necessary is the right thing to do. It's not. The ends NEVER justify the means.

Brain failure and the Christian....

Ray Dumfort wrote the other day about how the human heart supposedly proves god because we can't yet duplicate it.

But once again Dumfort is a plagiarist and a LIAR. His entire post is stolen from a MUSLIM site. http://www.harunyahya.com/books/science/biomimetics/biomimetics07.php

So, Ray is now a muslim???

Ray, you are a fucking idiot. You can't prove your god with your own religion so you steal from someone else's?  Why doesn't that shock me?

Something to watch for with some fundies....

Fundies like Dumbass Comfort and his ilk love to change the meaning of words. For instance, the word "good" in Comforteese is redefined as "perfect".  "Evolution" is redefined to include the big bang, abiogenesis, and proof requirements for evolution that if true, would actually disprove evolution.

Another favorite is "faith" = "trust". This is not so. Trust is earned and based on a track record. Faith is given blindly and in spite of evidence.

These word games can trip you up if you don't watch out for them.

Comfort the hypocrite.....

Ray offers this bit on Sunday.....

Atheists Cashing in on the Rapture
Regarding the stupidity of predicting the rapture, Richard Dawkins said,

"An aspect of religion that intrigues me is its capacity to con money out of a seemingly endless supply of gullible idiots. Is there anything so stupid that, if you put it out there, you can't find thousands of people (and their money) to believe it."

And those who believe what the professor says can buy his books, DVD's, trinkets, T-shirts, etc., from his website. There is an endless supply who do.

Ray Comfort, who's "ministry" pays him a very comfortable 6 figure salary each year.
Here is a sample of the shit Ray sells:
101 Last Days Prophecies BookletBillete de Un Millón de DólaresSmart CardDeathBeth.com cardsTicket To HeavenWallet

Now, who is out to make money?

Ray, is a first class fucking hypocrite.

How cute! Chad Williams thinks he is smarty enough to invent a new fallacy!

Chad Williams from Living Waters offers this brain fart:

The “Taxi-Cab Fallacy” is committed when one hops in and assumes a certain system of thought or worldview in an attempt to make a particular point but then jumps out of the system of thought when it suits their fancy. Such practice lacks logical consistency and is therefore a logical fallacy.

A detractor of the Christian worldview cannot hop into the Christian system of thought by erecting an objection grounded in the Bible and then demand an answer be given without the use of a Bible. Again, they cannot appeal to the Bible in raising their question and then insist we throw our Bible out of the equation when we give an answer!

This is a blatant attempt to limit the skeptics arsenal. This isn't a fallacy. Demanding that something inside the bible be proven from outside the bible is perfectly legitimate. If what is said inside the bible isn't true outside the bible, then it isn't true inside the bible.

LOL... Talk about lack of understanding....

Andrew_Rappaport, Global Moderator at Ambassador's Alliance (A Living Water's sponsored swamp of ignorance) offered this lovely gem today:

"Jack are you saying that you have a independent way other then science to verify the works of science.  It seems to me that science is used to verify its claims but you do not call that circular."

Needless to say, much face palming ensued.

Poor Ken Ham and AiG kicked out of two home school conferences

Answers in Genesis has been uninvited from two home school conferences.

Because Ken dared speak out (in a nasty way) against someone who doesn't share his same views who will be speaking at these two conferences and was told to stay home? Why does AiG seem so miffed?  Was it because they are competition to AiG's income and they won't see any money from these meetings at all now?

HS resource sales are a large part of AiG's income. So, the reason Ken is miffed is sort of obvious... He might have to take a pay cut.

Saturday, March 5, 2011

Oh!! The hypocrisy!

Answers in Ignorance... err. I mean Genesis has a gem today I noticed from this tweet:

New article: News to Note, March 5, 2011: Bible-believing Christians need not apply...

Clearly AIG is not happy about these people being denied the privilege of being foster parents because they are bible believing bigots, like AIG.

But let's look at AIG's own requirements for employment with them.....  Even if you want to be on their housekeeping staff, you must submit:

Items needed for possible employment:

  • Resume
  • Salvation testimony
  • Creation belief statement
  • Confirmation of your agreement with the AiG Statement of Faith

This is in complete violation of the EOE Act as it relates to religion.

Ken Ham is proud he fooled a 6 year old child......

His Heart Has Been Changed

"A family were visiting their brother & sister in law for Thanksgiving and wanted to come to the Museum; they tried to convince their extended family to come with them, but they declined. So they came, the Friday after Thanksgiving and went through the entire museum, ending with the Last Adam show. At the end of the show her 6 year old son . . . grabbed one of the cards (credit card type, the one you can sign the back of if you make a commitment to Christ) and took it home. Later that night, as he was drying off from his bath, he turned and looked at his mom and asked, “Mommy, am I a Christian?” So they talked and prayed because he really wanted to know Jesus. He was so happy after that while he was brushing his teeth, he kept stopping to sing,” I’m a Christian, I’m a Christian!” They went and told his dad then pulled out that little card and he proudly signed his name and dated the card. It is now stored in his memory drawer."

Congratulations Ken!  You managed to convince a child (at an age where virtually all children have problems discerning between fantasy and reality) to believe your fantasy!  How proud you must be!

Ray Comfort thinks slavery is nifty

In todays offering of half-baked 'wisdom', Ray Comfort redefines Roman slavery to be gentle, kind, and loving. This is true in some cases, but certainly not the vast majority.

Romans considered slavery as a type of death and slaves were never considered as human. A roman slave was not allowed to have a family. His children were the property of his dominus. It was common for a slave's head to be forcibly shaved so their hair could be made into wigs for the upper class. They had no honor nor pride. They were not protected under law and had no right to sled defense. They were not entitled to trial if charged with a crime.

Rome always have a fresh supply of slaves from nations it conquered. The vanquished were frequently condemned to slavery. A popular form of birth control in Rome was for new parents to abandon their child on the street who would be taken in as a slave by another family. Pirates would attack ships and take passengers as slaves and sell them in Rome.

The life of most Roman slaves was a nightmare. Slaves were often whipped, branded and cruelly mistreated. Their owners would also kill them for any reason, and wouldn't face any charges. Misbehaving slaves could face crucifixion.

Slaves were minimally clothed if the situation allowed. House slaves had more clothing, farm slaves just a cloth and maybe wooden shoes.

Comfort nonsensical claims the movie Ben Hur, a completely fictional work of the late 1950's, is an accurate portrayal of how well Roman slaves were treated: with great love and respect. He simply couldn't be further from reality. If he was to have the courage to watch Star's Spartacus, he would have a much better idea of how loathsome the life of a slave was.

These fatuous claims of Comfort's just further undermines any pretext of credibility when he speaks to morality.  Ray Comfort is a despicable excuse for a human being.

Petition to remove Answers in Genesis, Creation Ministries International, Institute for Creation Research from Google Scholar

Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites. Google Scholar helps you find relevant work across the world of scholarly research.

Unfortunately, they are also listing the works of AIG, CMI, and ICR as valid sources for students to find information. These groups don't qualify as scholarly sources as they are not interested in facts or truth, but pushing their own biased view that anything that contradicts the bible must be wrong.

Each group has the following statement in their 'About Us - Statement of Faith': "By definition, no apparent, perceived or claimed evidence in any field, including history and chronology, can be valid if it contradicts the scriptural record." or something very similar. Clearly this is a license to lie and / or deny evidence that doesn't support their view.

The National Center for Science Education collected over 800 signatures from scientists in the three states closest to the museum (Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio) on the following statement:

"We, the undersigned scientists at universities and colleges in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, are concerned about scientifically inaccurate materials at the Answers in Genesis museum. Students who accept this material as scientifically valid are unlikely to succeed in science courses at the college level. These students will need remedial instruction in the nature of science, as well as in the specific areas of science misrepresented by Answers in Genesis."
Fortunately, there is a petition to ask Google to remove these sites from Google Scholar. I encourage you to sign this petition if you agree that these sites should be removed. Go here to sign the petition: http://www.gopetition.com/petition/42229.html

I feel honored.... Ken Ham quote mines little ol me....

Last night I put some fliers on cars at a church while the Hamster and Weaselnose were spreading their young earth stupidity inside. Today the activity got a mention on his blog. He was nice enough to quote mine my flier and violate his god's 9th commandment. I am not surprised as this is par for the course for him.

The actual text of the flier is here
