Todd, if you really have a problem with people who are dying choosing when to end their own lives too bad. That you think you have a right or duty to speak out against it is sicking. I hope you have the choice as to when to end your life when it comes and you can't take the pain and don't want to be a burden on anyone any longer. While you may not make the choice, I at least hope you get to have that choice.

If atheism is inherently evil as you imply, why are atheists 11+% of the population at large yet less than 1% of the prison population? This dean of Florida International University is correct in that a college grad should not be allowed to graduate with demonstrably false beliefs! Just as an astronomy student shouldn't be allowed to graduate with a belief that angels push the planets around in their orbits. Or a medical student shouldn't be allowed to graduate with a belief that gremlins cause disease instead of germs! Or a chemist shouldn't be allowed to graduate thinking that alchemy is a correct model!

Todd, you don't get to say if your model is scientifically valid. And your precious beliefs are not exempt from ridicule when they are ridiculous and refusing to teach them in schools isn't academic suppression, it's education!

Without Genesis . . . Our Children Learn the Bible Cannot Be Trusted

When our church leaders teach believers, especially youth, that Genesis 1–11 is untrustworthy, they are teaching (unwittingly or not) that the Word of God is not authoritative. While it may seem hard to believe that the denial of 11 chapters from just one of the 66 books of Scripture could have such a negative impact on people, it has been confirmed by the research presented in Ken’s book, Already Gone. Two-thirds of our children are leaving the church by the time they reach college age. And the majority of them do not believe that Genesis 1–11 is accurate or reliable. Church leaders’ compromise on Genesis, including their incorporation of evolution and millions of years, is teaching our children that the Word of God lacks authority—and our children suffer the most from the results of such thinking.

All available evidence tells us that all of Genesis, Exodus, etc is untrustworthy as it doesn't fit any of the available facts. The lack of collaborating evidence is astounding! Normally absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but in this case, the astonishing lack of evidence is not just evidence of absence, but conclusive!

We can conclude that the if the god of the Christian bible is as he is described in the bible, then he doesn't exist!

These kids are not leaving because they don't believe in Genesis, but because they discovered you have been lying to them about the lack of congruence between the bible and reality! They are not suffering from the results of this discovery, but being freed from your archaic superstition and hopefully finding the real world far more interesting than your fables and myths!

Dr. Andrew Snelling from Answers in Genesis... Fraud?

Dr. Andrew Snelling from Answers in Genesis wrote today trying to answer the common rejection of his vacuous young earth - anti-evoltion claim "How could most scientists be wrong?" 

"When it comes to explaining how the rocks and fossils formed, however, those are events that occurred in the past. They can’t be repeated and observed. Thus, explanations about how rocks and fossils formed in the past are interpretations, not facts."

This is an absurd objection but it opens an interesting door. His assumptions can be tested if they only took a year!  So I challenge him to reproduce rock in less than a year using sediment.

"Sure, we can observe and study today how sediments are deposited in layers. But to say that sediments have always accumulated in the past at the rates we observe today is an assumption."

And his claims are also an assumption. But there is no reason for real geologists to assume that the rates of formation changed at all!

Ya, know what? Fuck it. His claims just are not worth responding to. They are vapid nonsense and I have wasted too many electrons on them already.  

Tony Miano's "strawman" post....

In a few of his newest loads of vacuous shit, Tony Miano from Living Water's "On the Box" (or as I call it "Off the Rocker") offers a reply to a number of what he calls "Strawmen" that compare the christian's relationship with god to the "battered wife syndrome".
First, he tries to dispel the claim that we are "nothing without god".
The only time the phrase "you are nothing" appears in the Bible is in Isaiah 41:24, which reads: "Behold, you are nothing, and your work is less than nothing; an abomination is he who chooses you."
This is partly true. He neglects to consider John 15:5:
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
The message is clear that god is telling the christian that without god, you are worthless and can't do anything.
God is good. The problem isn't with God. The problem is with sinners who refuse to submit to Him and love Him as they should.
This is simply laughable. The god of the bible isn't good, he is an over bearing thug! The problem with the god of the bible is that he is his own worst enemy! The anti-theist sees him for what he is: the worst of all human traits, unworthy of any praise or worship and should be shunned!

Second, Tony invokes the "no true christian fallacy" saying that it is impossible for a christian to leave the religion.

The truth: no born-again follower of Jesus Christ will ever reject Christ and turn their back on Him. To those whom God gives the gift of eternal life, no one will ever snatch them out of the Father's and the Son's hand (John 10:28-30). No one will ever separate the genuine Christian from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39). So the "if you ever think about leaving me" objection is a non-starter.

This is simply bullshit and proven over and over again every day as people wake up and learn the truth that there is no evidence for a god and that Tony's god is a piece of shit myth!

Third Tony dismisses the "You don't deserve me" claim with a simple "And?... So?..."

Well, I agree. We don't deserve your fucked up god Tony! We deserve much better than your evil megalomaniacal, anti-social, psychotic god!

Steve Sanchez and other Christians frequently make the claim that they are trying to warn you about hell the same way a normal person would warn someone else about a bridge being out on the road you are driving.

He claims to be warning you about the impending doom....

But there is a serious problem with his little analogy. When we stop and listen to his evidence about the "bridge being out" we look at the maps and see no bridge, no river, no water. We call the local police and ask when about this bridge and they are confused telling us there is no bridge within 20 miles of where he claims this bridge is! Ariel photos tell the same story, no bridge! Every expert tells the same story that not only is there no bridge out, but there is no bridge at all!

This is a common analogy for Christians claiming to spread the gospel. It's a bullshit analogy that should be ignored and ridiculed when heard.

The only bridge that is out is the one in Steve's head.

Question for Genesis literalists

I would love to hear the explanation for this that just isn't patently absurd.

Most "young earth creationists" (YECs) claim that there was no death in the world before the "fall of man" when Adam and Eve sinned. As a direct result of this concept, all creatures, including man were vegetarians.

This causes a number of questions that I have never heard a sufficient answer to.

1. How do you explain that all plants are living things and would be killed the moment they were eaten and digested? 
2. Why would Adam and Eve and all the other animals have to eat at all if there was no death? 
3. What would have happened to them if they didn't eat before the "fall"?
4. A number of creatures can only live from dead or decaying matter. When were they created?
5. When were viruses created? Bacteria? Fungi?
6. Why use would vipers and spiders have for venom? Heat sensing pits? Webs? 

That's just to start, but I am sure we can go on and on should anyone have plausible answers. 

"You were a false convert" and other dumb statements

I am sure many ex-christians have heard this accusation from christians before: "You were not a True-Christian™"  If I had a dollar for every time some christian laid that line on me, I would be very wealthy. What christians don't understand is how insulting it is to say that to a former believer.

Or another of my favorites: "You don't believe in god because you love your sin too much." While not quite as insulting, it is a dumbass question. What do they expect us to say? "Well, I just love raping babies and pillaging towns. And well, my day just isn't complete without a few 'goddamn this and goddamn thats.'"

Or the assumption that the reason we stopped being Christians is that cue someone in the church hurt us or we lost someone.

These claims are moronic and small minded. They deny the absolute truth that people can and do leave the church and the religion because we simply cease to believe the same garbage they still do believe.

Romans 1 says "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse," (Romans 1:20 NKJV). This is pure bullshit. If it was true, then Christianity or some version of it would have spontaneously come into existence all over the world. Clearly this is not the case.

There are plenty of reasons not to believe in your god. If you don't like it, then tough shit. It's not a reason for your insulting baseless claims.

He is dishonest as he does accept so called "microevolution" but denies so called "macroevolution". He does accept microevolution as he would be daft not to, but he is equally daft to not accept macroevolution.

What is "Darwin's Idea"? “Darwin argued that macroevolution is just microevolution writ large, or that the process we see and study as the cause of microevolution will, given sufficient time, also cause everything that we attribute to macroevolution.” (Travis and Reznick 2009, p. 126).

Pastor promotes bigotry and child abuse!

Reverend Sean Harris, the senior pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina, tells parents to physically assault young children who may appear gay or effeminate. Then gives special dispensation for the assault.

Church members may face charges in fake kidnapping of teen members?

Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Lower Swatara Township, Pa may be facing charges of kidnapping as well as other charges.
In an attempt to teach teen members of what other countries do to Christians, church leaders burst into homes at gun point (unloaded and carried by an off duty police officer), blindfolded and forced teens into a van, and then taken to the pastors home where they were told everything was fake.
The area's abc 27 news station reported:

Lower Swatara Township police began their own investigation when the mother of a 14-year-old girl complained that her daughter, a guest of a youth group member, had her legs bruised during the event.
The teen told abc27 News she thought she was going to die when the men burst into the room, put pillow cases over some of the people's heads and led them into a van.
"They pulled my chair out from underneath me and then they told me to get on the ground," she said. "I was the first person to go into the van. I had my hands behind my back they said 'just do as I say and you won't be hurt'."
The teens were taken to the pastor's house, where it appeared he was being assaulted. Eventually, she said the adults in charge revealed it was a staged event.

This is unreal and a recipe for disaster. If this had happened in my house or at a neighbor's / friend's with no knowledge of what was actually happening, it easily could have become a tragedy. I would have defended these kids with lethal force if need be. I know many others who would do the same.
Shockingly, it seems parents were also not informed of the fake raids either. The church said it would continue such actions in the future, but would inform parents from now on.. WTF?

What is in Hell?

Memory stored with the whole history of one’s life–is there.
The worm that gnaws the vitals of the soul, but never dies–is there.
The fire that cannot be quenched, which tortures but never destroys our nature–is there.
But there is no Bible there.
There is no gospel with its joyful sound.
There is no gentle, loving Savior.
There is no loving friend or dear relation.
There is nothing to lessen or alleviate suffering!
Hell concentrates in itself, all the elements of misery, degradation, wretchedness and woe!

Hell is a scary story invented by religious leaders to control the masses and to get them to do as told.
The bible says a lot of things. Virtually none of it is true or real. It claims the world is 6000 years old created in 6 24 hour periods. This is so blatently wrong it's absurd. There is no divine wisdom in the bible. There is nothing more insightful than what we would expect from bronze age writers who were terrified by what they couldn't understand when they looked at the world. From the world they thought was flat (chüg) to lumping bats and birds together when they have almost nothing in common. There is NO divine wisdom in the entire book. None.
You even contradict yourself with your hellish descriptions:

You claim my memory and my whole life story will be there. The bible is part of my life's history. Now you claim that there will be no bible there and by extension part of my history will be gone. Which is it? Will there be no bible there or will I have all my life history?

Poor Ken Ham is not happy.....

Ken Ham of Answers in Stupidity Genesis is not a happy camper right now because many churches are not falling in line with his delusion that the earth is 6000 years old and dinosaurs lived on the earth with humans before a global flood.
